Squire have put a lot of time and effort into the research and developemnt of new ranges and additions to exisitng ranges. Out of that has come these new 'All Terrain' padlocks which have the capability to be left exposed in the worst weather and still be corrosion resistant.
The bodies of these padlocks are solid brass with a stainless steel shackle. The body is encased in protective coating to give even greater protection.
Whilst a stainless steel shackle is easier to cut through then hardened steel counterparts, with a 6mm diameter on the 44mm body width and an 8.8mm diameter on the 58mm body width, there's still a good level of protection to be more than just a deterrent. The shackle is double bolted which basically means that if someone cuts through the shackle, they'll have to do so a second time to remove a piece of the shackle as it will not twist with just a single cut.
This would slow them down greatly to allow time for them to hopefully be spotted / give up trying to break into your stuff.
They would be considered in the low to medium security category but Squire are so confident in the durability of this product after doing salt spray testing for 200 hours, that they are offering a 10 year manufacturers guarntee!
Each padlock is supplied with two keys and they are availbale in keyed alike and keyed different format (only keyed alike to the same body width).
We're really liking the look and feel of the new Squire ranges and their pricing a very reasonable too.
