Each padlock comes with 2 keys but you do need to order your individual "master keys" separately
The ABUS 65 series padlock is a premium model using a double bolted locking mechanism and an anti-pick barrel. The padlock contains a non-corrosive internal mechanism and is therefore suitable for normal outdoor use.
We record the masterkey you have and therefore you can add locks to the masterkey set in future. We do not however record every single lock which therefore means it is impossible to guarantee additional locks will be unique. This however is rarely a problem due to the large number of different key variations that ABUS manufacture their padlocks with.
Note that the 30mm padlocks use less pins than the larger sizes and therefore after 200 units duplicates will occur. However, 40, 50 and 60mm padlocks can be in sets of 550 before any duplication will occur.
Should I be concerned about duplicates?
In most circumstances no. Even if every padlock was duplicated twice, the likelihood of finding the other padlock in a large set it slim. However, in some situations, especially in small sets it is necessary to guarantee every padlock will be unique. In this case please contact us and we can quote for a special order which the locks can be made up from scratch and recorded.
Will I be able to add to my set in the future?
Yes. But since every lock / key is not recorded and numbered we cannot guarantee that the new padlocks will be unique and not duplicate padlocks you already have.
Sizes
We offer three sizes in this master key range padlock. 30mm, 40mm and 50mm. Your choice of padlock size depends on the application but you can click the image above for specific measurement. Remember to make sure the shackle will fit through your bolt or staple!
Uses & Applications
Master key sets are used in a number of situations but ideal for securing units for hire when an administrator or site manager may require access at any time. Remember that it is important to keep the master-key safe. If a copy is misplaced it can compromise the whole set and you may consider one of our key garages as added security for your master-keys.
