A great alternative to a chain to secure gates or fences. Made from hardened steel, it covers the padlock also making it very difficult to cut off or attack. An excellent product and strangely satisfying to use!

About this product

New for 2018, ABUS have developed this hardened steel gatepost holder to further strengthen a security system to prevent the need for chain. More oftern than not, a chain will be weaker than the shackle of the padlock and many people have a chain whereby the links are thinner than the with of the shackle therefore making the chain the weakest and easiest to access section of the security.

The Gatesec is made from hardened steel and coated with ABUS' eterna plating to ensure maximum strength yet plenty of protection against the weather.

The sides of the Gatsec have been constructed with rolled steel to ensure creating as much difficulty to anyone trying to saw it. Also, with the unit being made from a single piece of steel, there are no welding points that would give a weakness to the product.

It's ideal for use with open or closed shackle padlocks and keyed or combinations. Maximum shackle width suitable is 10mm which will be most of the Diskus range and many of the high security Extreme padlocks as well as the standard brass, Titalium and Silver Rock padlocks. The bracket in the image to the right slips onto the two ends of the Gatesec to hold them further in place and prevent a crowbar being forced between the two sides to try and wedge it open.
