About this product
These locks, although old are in fact very solid. They appear to be made from a solid carved brass bodies with simple but effective mechanisms inside. We're unsure of the age and history of the locks but all are in fully working order and we would recommend you use them to secure nice furniture or similar, but not as a high securtity item for a shed, bike or front door for example.
Designs:
We bought a number of these in 5 different designs and when they are sold out we may try and aquire some more but we cannot guarantee the same carvings again. Each has the same rear with some Hindu symbols. We are unsure what they mean. Choose from the drop down menu above to select your design:
- Dragons - Two dragons face to face with long tails going down to the keyway
- Latin - Latin words reading "Quo Fas Et Gloria Ducunt (Where Right And Glory Lead)"
- Buddha - A posing buddha with right arm lifted
- Hindu - Hindu symbols for which we're unsure the meaning
- Symbols - 8 symbol picutures of various kinds.
Note that the designs may vary slight from the photos as we believe they are hand made or rpoughly forged.
